Essex Library Service has a new app ! We know that the mobile era is here so mobilising the library experience is essential! The number of mobile users today is greater than the number of desktop users! We use our phones for almost every activity like shopping, doing exercises, improving our lifestyle, traveling, navigating in a big city, listening to music, chatting with friends or making our visuals more beautiful.
A fantastic library app is a great way to change perceptions of your services and to get and keep your patrons engaged and involved with the library service. Businesses have realised the need to effectively use mobile channels to attract and retain customers so have libraries across the world. But, it cant be just any old app it has to be the best, the one that gives a great user experience so they can make the most of this channel.
Essex Library Service’s new app is live! The new app has some amazing features and it puts the library in the palm of your hand anytime, anywhere. Multicultural communities need to make their app available in many languages and the Solus app does just that in over 24 languages

Once downloaded, you can sign in to your account using your library card number and pin. From there you can access your barcode which means even if you don’t have your library card with you, you can borrow and renew your items. https://libraries.essex.gov.uk/news/the-new-libraries-app-is-live/

11 years ago SOLUS started mobilising the library experience and launched the first ever UK public libraries app in Edinburgh Scotland. At SOLUS we’re proud of The Library App and the versions of it that SOLUS has built for our ILS partners. And while we’d never have imagined that we’d reach over 7,000 library locations on 6 continents in such a short time we know it’s a great achievement, we don’t plan on stopping there!
